Eating Dim Sum @ Wutai Vegetarian Restaurant

8:43 AM

A few work colleagues and I were convinced to try a vegetarian restaurant for lunch. It was a very rare occasion for me to try non meat foods. This restaurant name was "Wutai Vegetarian Restaurant" with strong ties to the "Wutai" Buddhist temple located near Sheppard and Bayview.

Visit: Oct 6 2015
Food Rating: 4/5
Service: 3/5

Atmosphere:
The restaurant looks like any other low-mid end Chinese restaurant. However, there were pictures/paintings of the new Wutai temple that is currently in construction in the Kawartha Lakes region. There weren't too many people and the atmosphere was very quiet.

Service:
Service from the staff was slow. We flagged our hands many times and it was just so convenient for them to never look at our direction. We ordered our dim sum choices via paper and gave it to an available waiter.

Food Comments:
For Buddhist vegetarian foods, the dim sum food was sometimes oily but tasty. I admired how they created the fake Shu Mai with all that rice ... I personally preferred the Osmanthus Flower Cake - very different than anything we had tried and very tasty.

Would I come back again? Yes!
