Munching @ Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot

9:04 AM

At this Mongolian chain eatery, diners cook their meat & vegetables in broth at the table in their own boiling pot. Dear was craving something different on this day and decided on this restaurant due to the large party size we had. This hot pot restaurant seems to have existed for sometime. There was a Little Sheep hot pot restaurant at Commerce Gate plaza but it no longer exists now.

When coming in the restaurant on a cold winter day, my glasses instantly fog up. It was 6pm and it was 80-90% full already. It would only get worst towards the night. We were lucky to get a large table in the corner of the restaurant.

Depending on the hotpot restaurants, you can either go pick up the toppings that you want to boil or you get it ordered and brought to you. For this restaurant, it's self service and it is all you can eat buffet. They got a corner area of the restaurant jammed with ~10 sauces, some cooked dishes (e.g. spring rolls, fried dough buns, fried noodles), desserts (e.g. cookies, shrimp chips) and the drink selections (e.g. lemon-aid, plum juice, sweet soy milk and pop machine). There was one corner stuffed with slice pineapples (this totally confused me...) At times, this corner area can be pretty chaotic ... For the special meats (like lamb and beef slices), you have to order it directly from your server.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5 -> self service!
Price: Evening dinner was about $22 per person (before taxes)
